With a tight deadline, limited budget, and short timeframe, Emily from Adobe wanted to create a unique experience for a group of influencers. Slingshot worked with the company to design an elegant box that would convey a sense of excitement as soon as the lid was lifted.
The Adobe, Mashup LA, Tyler Pate (designer), and Slingshot crews came up with a concept to use the Premier Rush app to create short films using mystery items. Influencers flicked a numbered spinner to select one of six bags, each filled with different items, such as paint, prisms, ribbons, bubbles, or fairy lights. The challenge was to create a video that used this mystery item in creative ways.
The Slingshot team had to move fast. The team wrangled 10+ vendors to create all of the pieces that would make up the box, which was incredibly challenging. We begged and pleaded with vendors to expedite timelines, reduce minimum order quantities, and make changes to strict processes they had in place. To speed up production, we even hired a night crew to assemble the boxes piece-by-piece. And, yes, thanks to our bruised fingers, those custom game spinners went through a rigorous quality assurance test.
Influencers were invited to share their unboxing experience with their social followers. The cumulative amount of views totaled over 10 million! The Slingshot team couldn’t have pulled this off without the support of our awesome partners at Adobe Video, Mashup LA, and Tyler Pate Design.
